Cher denies cancer speculation

Cher has denied reports that she was forced to pull out of two Las Vegas concerts after a cancer diagnosis.

The 62-year-old singer insisted that she cancelled the shows due to an allergic reaction to the Las Vegas weather.

She added that she is not angry at speculation that she is ill, claiming "people have been saying the weirdest things since I was a teenager".

"My health is great but there's a wind thing that blows there [in Las Vegas] at different months and I have an allergy to it," she said.

"If I had cancer everyone would know it. I wouldn't tell them, but somebody would. When you have those kind of things happen if you're famous you can't keep them a secret."
