Report: MTV 'bad boy' arrested for binge

MTV VJ Darren McMullen was reportedly jailed at the weekend for being drunk in public during a visit to LA.

The "bad boy" presenter was charged with public intoxication and released on bail on Sunday, according to celebrity blogger Perez Hilton.

The host of MTV Australia's The Lair could have been arrested under California law if he had shown that he was unable to "exercise care for his own safety or that of others".

A MTV spokesperson told Australia's Herald Sun: "Oh that's so funny, I haven't seen it. That's so him, he's such a bad boy."

McMullen was born in Glasgow and emigrated to Australia at the age of 12. He recently caused a stir at the MTV Australia Awards by hiking up his kilt on the red carpet.
