Samuel L. Jackson has voiced his fears for Barack Obama's safety if he is elected US president next week.

The actor, a vocal supporter of the Democratic candidate, claimed that Obama could be the target for a racially-motivated assassination if he makes it to the White House.

"At some point, somebody is gonna say something about 'that n***** in the White House," he is quoted as saying. "They just haven't announced on the news that somebody in the back of some Sarah Palin rally is going, 'Kill that n*****!'

"It really bothers me sometimes that we have to be so politically correct. What we fear most as black people who want Obama to win or be elected is when is someone gonna try and kill him? Everybody acts like that's not the elephant in the room but it is."
