Boris Becker calls off engagement

Boris Becker has reportedly split from his fiancée three months after becoming engaged.

The tennis star confirmed that he had parted ways with Alessandra Meyer-Wölden on Tuesday night, reports the Daily Mail.

The couple have known each other since childhood, with Meyer-Wölden's father managing the former Wimbledon champion at the height of his career. The couple became engaged on August 10 when he proposed in Sardinia.

Becker apparently confirmed the split in a text message to German publication Bunte, saying: "Yes, it's true, unfortunately."
