Beckinsale's daughter 'wants to write'

Kate Beckinsale has revealed that her daughter has no intention of following in her footsteps.

The Underworld star, whose father Richard Beckinsale was also an actor, said nine-year-old Lily has other plans for her career.

"[She] would rather become a writer instead. She's currently writing seven novels. Quite a girl, my Lily," she is quoted as saying.

Mother and daughter recently starred together in Everybody's Fine, a remake of an Italian drama.
