NY neighbours complain about Madonna noise

Madonna's neighbours have reportedly been complaining about the level of noise coming from the singer's New York apartment.

Residents at Harperley Hall, where Madonna last year purchased a seventh-floor apartment, have been complaining about the noise coming from the property, which the singer recently converted into a recording studio.

"They asked her for a schedule of when she would practise, but she hasn't adhered to it," a source told The New York Daily News.

"The music is playing at all hours of the night, and the noise from the drums and the bass blares through the walls," the source added.

A representative of the singer explained that the singer enjoys early bed times in order to sustain energy for her hectic touring schedule.

"Madonna does not stay up till all hours of the night... so I can't imagine there is any validity to this story. She needs her rest. She's a working girl, you know."
