Bass 'lost two inches' after space training

Lance Bass has claimed that he shrunk two inches after undergoing astronaut training six years ago.

The ex-'N Sync singer told Tonight Show host Jay Leno that he measured himself after his training regime in Russia and was shocked by the result.

He said: "I got shorter. I did! I don't know what happened. Everyone said, 'You're much shorter', so I measured myself and... yeah."

Bass, who is unable to afford the £12.9 million required for a journey into space, added that the speed of training and language barriers made life difficult for him.

"It was condensed training, because it takes years to become a cosmonaut and they only had six months to train me," he commented,

"I had a translator that didn't speak much English and a Russian teacher that spoke only French and Russian - they thought that's how I'd learn it better."
