John Cleese has hair transplant

John Cleese has revealed that he recently underwent surgery for a hair transplant.

The actor broke the news during an appearance on chatshow Richard and Judy's New Position.

After talking about a recent hip operation, Cleese told presenters Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan: "As we’re talking operations, since I saw you last, I’ve had a hair transplant."

On the reason behind the operation, he added: "Because I have got a very strange shaped skull, very pointy... and I don’t like wearing wigs!"

Cleese revealed that the procedure involved taking two strips of hair from the back of his head and cutting them into a further 800 pieces. The 800 incisions were then transplanted back on to his scalp.

He also confirmed that he is writing a movie script with friend and actress Lisa Hogan based on his recent divorce from third wife Alyce Faye Eichelberger.

Cleese split from Eichelberger in January after 19 years of marriage.
