Russell Brand has admitted to grave robbing while filming a documentary in the US.
The comic told Late Show host David Letterman that he took peanut butter from the resting place of American Beat writer Jack Kerouac.
He explained: "Around his grave were all manner of tributes left by well-wishers. Some people had left things like a book of poems or flowers, more conventional, but someone had left a jar of peanut butter. That's no use to you in the afterlife, is it? I was hungry. I took it."
The 33-year-old added that his flamboyant appearance means people often think he is gay.
"Because I'm so well dressed, people think, 'He must be gay. Look at his haircut, he must be gay. Look how sensitive and vulnerable he is, he must be gay'," he said.
"That means women feel safe around me. They trust me. Then bang! Pregnant! Bang! Pregnant! Bang! Pregnant!"
