Shatner: 'I can get out of speeding fines'

Rex Features

William Shatner has admitted that being famous helps him avoid speeding fines.

The Star Trek actor revealed that a combination of politeness to police officers and chatting to them about his acting career is usually enough to secure him a reprieve.

WENN quotes him as saying: "I always agree with whatever they say and I always call them 'Sir'.

"Most of them like to have a chat about when I was on Star Trek. Then they say, 'OK, Bill, not so fast next time'."
