Ritchie's dad 'happy with divorce'

Guy Ritchie's father has said that he is glad his son is divorcing Madonna.

The couple announced the end of their marriage last month after nearly eight years as husband and wife.

John Ritchie said Guy has been in good spirits since the split, telling In Touch Weekly: "Guy has been in a very good mood. I wasn't upset that they split. I am very pleased for Guy that it is over."

John branded Madonna "beastly" and "horrid" last month after she reportedly made derogatory remarks about Guy at a Boston concert.
