Lewis wanted in UK and US for New Year

Leona Lewis is at the centre of a New Year battle, with organisers in both the UK and US apparently waging a cash war to secure her services.

The X Factor winner is wanted to appear at Elton John's bash at London's O2, reports The Sun.

However, Lewis is also in demand from party organisers in America who want the star to bring in 2009 across the pond. She is apparently considering turning down all offers to instead enjoy festivities at home with her family and boyfriend Lou Al-Chamaa.

Lewis's deluxe re-release of her number one LP Spirit, which includes her cover of Snow Patrol's 'Run', is released today.

The 23-year-old returned to the X Factor stage on Saturday to perform the classic, which was branded "incredible" by Simon Cowell.
