Richard Madeley has said he can clearly remember the pain of a vasectomy he underwent two decades ago.
The presenter spoke about the operation on his chatshow New Position, which he hosts with wife Judy Finnigan.
The 52-year-old said: "I opted for a local anaesthetic because I thought it was safer.
"It was like I was under the Gestapo... I came out green."
He revealed that Finnigan's first words on seeing him were: "My god, have they cut it off?"
The celebrity couple appeared on their final terrestrial TV show for Channel 4 in August, having earlier announced their move to multi-channel TV service Watch.
