Anderson calls for cannabis legalisation

Pamela Anderson has penned a letter to Barack Obama calling for the legalisation of cannabis.

The Baywatch star wrote an open letter to the US President-elect saying she believes that the drug should be legalised.

"I think we should legalise marijuana, tax and monitor - farm hemp etc," she wrote on her official blog.

"This would make our borders less corrupt and then I think eventually this will be a more secure option and save children in the long run - we should be able to farm hemp in America - it's just silly. It would create jobs and be good for the environment."

Anderson also wrote that harsher penalties should be imposed for certain crimes, including castrating child molesters. "Our children need more protection and justice seen. It needs to be prevented not just punished," she said.

The actress recently claimed that she is a good role model for young people heading into the entertainment industry.
