Michael Jackson converts to Islam?

Michael Jackson has reportedly converted to Islam and changed his name to Mikaeel.

According to The Sun, Jackson, who was raised a Jehovah's Witness, became a Muslim in a ceremony at a friend's house in Los Angeles.

Jackson was recording his latest album at Toto keyboardist Steve Porcaro's home when he apparently decided to change his faith.

A source said: "They began talking to him about their beliefs, and how they thought they had become better people after they converted. Michael soon began warming to the idea.

"An Imam was summoned from the mosque and Michael went through the shahada, which is the Muslim declaration of belief."

Jackson is expected to arrive in the UK on Monday to testify in a £4.7 million breach of contract lawsuit filed against him by a Bahrain Sheik.
