Barton goes online to 'set record straight'

Mischa Barton has launched her own website in order to set the record straight on false reports about her personal life.

The former OC star said "all kinds of crap" is written about her and she wants to let her fans know the truth.

She said in a video message on the site: "I just think there's all kinds of misconceptions on the internet these days and I really think that the internet can be used for good and for bad and there's all kinds of crap that's written about me.

"Half the time I look at the internet and read these stories and they're just so outlandish and not true at all and I don't want my fans to have the wrong idea of who I am as a person."

Barton said she had wanted to launch the site for some time, adding that she was excited to be able to "put some truth out there".
