Maureen Lipman: 'I took LSD'

Veteran actress Maureen Lipman has confessed to taking LSD during the 1960s.

Lipman, 62, whose TV credits include Doctor Who, The Sweeney and Coronation Street, discussed the incident on Five documentary Sex, Drugs And Rock 'N' Roll: The 60s Revealed.

"I think I did take it once." she said. "Rather unpredictably ended up with someone I shouldn't have... I saw him the other day actually, funnily enough in a Notting Hill butcher."

However, former popstar Cilla Black claimed that she avoided the drug scene by focusing on her career.

She said: "Everybody was tripping out doing all that stuff and I was very much into being a professional... I was scared, I was actually very, very scared of drugs."
