Kidman booed at NY 'Australia' premiere

Nicole Kidman was apparently booed at the New York premiere of her latest movie Australia.

The actress caused a stir by only conducting a few interviews before dashing from the red carpet and into the Ziegfeld Theatre, PA reports.

Waiting reporters surged past barriers to speak to Kidman, who had arrived with husband Keith Urban to promote the movie.

The 41-year-old, who plays opposite Hugh Jackman in the Baz Lurhmann epic, revealed that she took on the role for her four-month-old daughter, Sunday Rose. "It's her film. I call it her film," she said.

Luhrmann had earlier said he hoped the film, which cost more than £80 million, would give cinema audiences an escape from credit crunch misery.
