'Beast' co-stars praise Swayze's spirit

Patrick Swayze's spirit has been praised by co-stars on his new TV show The Beast.

The cancer-stricken star apparently defied his illness by partying in Chicago to mark the end of filming of the FBI drama.

Swayze confirmed he had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in March, later reassuring his fans that he was winning the battle.

His co-star Kevin O'Connor told Us magazine: "He has so much more energy that you don't think about his health. In fact I think I look a lot more tired than Patrick does. He is just amazing."

Doctors gave the Dirty Dancing star the go-ahead to appear in the US crime drama at the end of June.
