Jackman's wife pleased with Kidman kiss

Hugh Jackman has revealed that his wife was happy with the screen kiss he shared with Nicole Kidman in Australia.

The actor said that it took an endorsement from wife Deborah-Lee Furness to convince him that the kiss worked.

"For actors, sometimes you can know someone too well and all of the heat goes out of the room and you're too familiar," he is quoted as saying.

"And thankfully, when I saw the movie for the first time, my wife was next to me and that very first kiss, which is quite a long, lingering, slow kiss - and just after it, Deb leaned over to me and said, 'That - was - great!' So if your wife can give you the thumbs up, you know you're on the right track."

Australia is released in cinemas on December 26.
