Ramsay 'friend' critical of chef's 'affair'

Friends of Gordon Ramsay have been critical of his alleged affair with Sarah Symonds, say tabloid reports.

Symonds told the News Of The World on Sunday that she enjoyed a seven-year affair with the F-Word host.

According to The Mirror, close pals of the TV chef believe he was "unbelievably stupid" to risk his marriage by sleeping with a professional mistress.

"It's clear to everyone Gordon absolutely adores [his wife] Tana so it's unbelievably stupid he would risk everything," said a source.

"He's another idiotic man. They're a fantastic couple and have the sort of life everyone would wish for. I have no idea who this woman is he's supposed to have slept with, but I can't imagine she's anything compared to Tana."

Meanwhile, Channel 4 has denied reports that filming on Ramsay's latest series of Kitchen Nightmares USA has been delayed.

A spokesperson said: "The next series of Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares USA has already been filmed and will air in early 2009 as planned.

"In addition, a further series of Kitchen Nightmares USA will go into production in May next year."
