Allen slams "unhealthy" celebrity culture

Lily Allen has described the public's obsession with celebrity as "unhealthy".

The singer claimed that the constant celebrity coverage in the press is a negative influence on young people in Britain.

"There are definitely things that come out of it that are really good. But there are bad things that are really bad, not just for me," she told the Daily Star.

"I don't think celebrity culture is very healthy for young people at all."

However, Allen also acknowledged the "benefits" that fame has brought her, including being paid "ridiculous amounts of money to DJ at nightclubs".
