Mother: 'Britney ready for comeback'

Britney Spears is "ready to get started again", according to her mother.

Lynne Spears told GMTV that her daughter is prepared for her comeback following a public breakdown earlier this year.

"I think Britney’s just ready to get started again. I think this is when she’s most in her element," she told the ITV1 programme.

"There’s a lot of people that care about Britney and love Britney, and Britney’s doing great now."

The 53-year-old was speaking ahead of her daughter's performance on The X Factor on Saturday. The singer is currently on a whistlestop visit to Germany, France and the UK.

Lynne, whose book Through The Storm focuses on Britney's recent troubles, also praised the popstar's parenting skills, saying: "She’s a wonderful mother, she’s funny, she’s extremely affectionate. She’s just a normal mother."

Britney releases new album Circus on December 2.
