Cindy Crawford and Jennifer Love Hewitt were among celebrities who helped to serve up a Thanksgiving feast for LA's homeless.

The annual dinner at Skid Row was again hosted by Kirk Douglas and wife Anne, who are long-time supporters of the city's Mission shelter.

Between 2,500 and 3,000 people benefited from the celebrity meal, which took place on Wednesday. Free foot exams and health checks were also on offer.

Crawford said: "It's just about recognising how fortunate we all are. It's a way for us to just put our heads in the right state of mind for being truly thankful and it's great to interact with the guests of the Los Angeles Mission and just be able to serve them a warm meal."

Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa helped in the kitchen, along with High School Musical star Corbin Bleu. Actors Wilmer Valderrama, Neal McDonough, Nora Zehetner, Joe Campana and Natasha Alam were also on hand at the event.
