Seymour denies 'text dumping' Cowell

Terri Seymour has vehemently denied dumping Simon Cowell by text message.

The presenter insists that she didn't call an end to their six-year relationship over the phone, claiming it would be too impersonal.

"You're with someone for six years and you end it by text? I don't think so! No, it wasn't ended over the phone and it wasn't ended by text," she told Hello.

The pair ended their relationship after reports that Cowell was reluctant to commit.

"It wasn't because he wouldn't marry me and wouldn't have children. We were never going to get married and Simon never wanted children. That wasn't even a factor, because I always knew that he never wanted kids, dating back to the time when we were friends before we started going out with each other."

Seymour denied reports that the X Factor judge had given her a significant sum of money when they split up.

"I was horrified when I read that he's supposed to have given me $10 million or whatever. I was like, 'Why?' I've worked myself since I was 12 years old. I've always been very independent and I'm lucky that I still work like I do."
