Brad Pitt has advised Ellen DeGeneres to use Chippendales to entice George Clooney to appear on her US chatshow.

Pitt made the comment during an interview for the programme about his 'Make It Right' foundation, which was established to help families in New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina.

DeGeneres told the actor about her "catch Clooney" campaign, which was launched after she moved to a new studio which neighbours his office.

"We've tried everything," she said. "We've sent Victoria's Secret models over. We've sent Miss America over. We've sent Kate Hudson over. We've sent gifts. We decorated his bungalow for Halloween. I don't know what more we can do."

Speaking via a satellite link from New Orleans, Pitt jokingly replied: "This is your problem... Get a bunch of Chippendales - he's yours. Three, four - no less than three. Make one a blonde."

DeGeneres said she would take Pitt's advice, adding that she would say the men were sent by him.
