Wentz: 'Our baby was an accident'

Pete Wentz has admitted that he did not plan to have a baby with wife Ashlee Simpson so soon.

The Fall Out Boy star revealed that the birth of son Bronx Mowgli has put an end to his "wild child" days.

"It was a happy accident. But I think that certain things happen for a reason in your life, and maybe it was time to put the wild child in a cage," he told Details magazine.

The bassist added that his wife has helped him get over a period of experimenting with prescription drugs.

"I realised I'd found my soulmate, and it made me want to be a better person. Now, with the baby, I want to be the best dad I can be," he said.

Simpson gave birth to Bronx Mowgli Wentz in a Los Angeles hospital on November 20.
