Nicole Kidman has revealed that she is reluctant to take her daughter Sunday Rose to Australia because the paparazzi there are too aggressive.

The actress, who won restraining orders against two photographers in her homeland in 2005, told Red that she feared raising her daughter down under.

"I am intrinsically Australian and I want her to have that, because she deserves that, but she doesn't deserve to be scared by paparazzi or followed to her school," she said.

The actress confessed that the constant press intrusion made her life "impossible".

"Hopefully, if the paparazzi lay off on us in Australia, we can spend a lot of time there but, right now, they make it impossible, because it's dangerous," she added.

Kidman's latest film Australia opens in UK cinemas on December 26.
