Beyoncé happy to lose 'diva' reputation

Beyoncé has claimed that she is finally shedding her reputation as a "diva" after years in the spotlight.

The singer confirmed that she is pleased with how the perception of her personality has changed recently.

Asked if the "diva" tag annoys her, she replied: "Definitely. At one point I was misunderstood a lot. But the more I meet people, I think people are beginning to feel a little differently about me."

The star also confirmed that she is planning to reinvent herself as a serious actress in the coming years. She is currently promoting her role in new movie Cadillac Records.

"My goal is to become a successful actress in dramas that don't involve singing," she explained. "I've been comfortable in singing roles, but I don't want to be comfortable. I want non-singing roles that will challenge me.

"I want to open the door for black female entertainers and show them they can do anything."
