Jolie named highest-paid film actress

Angelina Jolie has been named the highest-paid actress in an annual list compiled by The Hollywood Reporter.

The star climbed one place from last year to knock Reese Witherspoon off the top spot by reportedly commanding up to $15m (£10.2m) per film.

Julia Roberts was second, while Witherspoon took third place, earning $14 million (£9.5m) for appearing in comedy hit Four Christmases.

Cameron Diaz, Katherine Heigl, Kate Hudson, Anne Hathaway and Jennifer Aniston were also named as some of the industry's highest female earners. However, male stars are reportedly still able to command greater wage packets, with Will Smith making up to $25m (£17m) per movie.
