Kate Hudson expects thrifty Christmas

Kate Hudson has admitted that she will scale back her spending this Christmas.

Speaking at a press conference to promote her upcoming film Bride Wars, the actress claimed that she expects to be affected by the global economic recession.

"I think it's a really weird time and I think that everyone is feeling it," she remarked.

The 29-year-old added that she will likely knit presents for her friends and relatives. "We've always been pretty crafty anyway. We all knit. The girls knit. This year I'm doing these great big knit... well, actually I shouldn't even talk about it because I can't say it!"

Hudson's Bride Wars arrives in cinemas on January 9.
