Abdul said she begged producers to ban Goodspeed from the show because the auditionee had been harassing her for more than 17 years.
However, Goodspeed was allowed to enter the audition room during the show's fifth season, only to be rejected.
Police ruled out suspicious circumstances when her body was found outside Abdul's home on November 11 this year.
Speaking on Sirius XM, Abdul explained: "I said, 'This girl is a stalker of mine. Please do not let her in'. Everyone knew. I was shaking."
Abdul said producers allowed Goodspeed on to the show for the "entertainment value", adding that it would "be fun for them to cause me stress".
The 46-year-old said she has been in tears since the death and has told producers they should have listened to her.
