Speaking to Digital Spy at the comedy's world premiere, Carrey said that his scene with Fionnula Flanagan was inspired by an incident that occured while he was a young stand-up comic.
Carrey said: "It was more challenging for her, I think! I felt a bit like a porn director. It was something out of my life, something from a club I played in Northern Ontario, Canada one time.
"There was a beautiful 40-year-old woman, I was 21 years old. Everyone said, 'She loves comedians and by the way she has false teeth.' It was appaling to me for a few seconds and then I went, 'That might not be horrible!'"
Based on British author Danny Wallace's best-selling book, Yes Man revolves around a recluse who turns his life around by answering yes to every question asked of him.
The film opens on December 26.
