'Pulp Fiction' writer denies manslaughter

The Oscar winner was involved in a fatal car crash in January when his Mercedes Sedan hit a telephone pole, killing his passenger and injuring his wife.
The 43-year-old pleaded not guilty to the charges against him at a Ventura, California courthouse on Friday.
His lawyer told the court that Avary had apologised for the accident and was grief stricken over the death of his friend, Andreas Zedini, who had been visiting from Italy.
Avary won the 1995 Academy Award for screenwriting, alongside Quentin Tarantino, for penning the script to Pulp Fiction.
