Williams won't accept Ledger's award

Michelle Williams has denied claims that she will accept awards on behalf of ex-fiance Heath Ledger.

Earlier reports in the US suggested that Ledger's recent Golden Globe nomination had sparked a family feud, with the late star's father Kim and Williams contending to accept the honour should he win.

However, a representative of the Brokeback Mountain actress, who is mother to Ledger's three-year-old daughter Matilda, denied rumours of a rift.

"No discussions have been made for Michelle to accept nor are there any plans to take part," her spokesperson said.

Ledger has been posthumously nominated in the best supporting actor category for his role as the Joker in The Dark Knight.
