Rare Monroe photos sell for $150k

Rare photographs of iconic actress Marilyn Monroe have fetched $150,000 (£97,600) at auction in New York.

The collection of 36 photographs, auctioned by Christie's, are thought to be the last professional images of the star before her death.

The Some Like It Hot actress posed nude for a 1962 issue of Vogue, just six weeks before she died of an overdose.

The photographs, taken by Bert Stern, were eventually published in the magazine as a memorial to the star.

In February, actress Lindsay Lohan recreated the shoot for New York Magazine.
