Akon has been found guilty of harassment after he admitted to throwing a teenage fan off stage.
The rapper pleaded guilty to tossing 15-year-old Anthony Smith into the crowd during a show in Fishkill, New York last year.
Onlookers claimed that the singer ordered security to pull Smith on stage after somebody in the audience threw an object at him. He then lifted the boy on his shoulders and threw him into the crowd, where he landed on another fan, who suffered concussion.
Akon was fined $250 (£160) and ordered to carry out 65 hours of community service.
Leaving court, the rapper apologised to the victim but was confronted by Smith's father who allegedly said: "You threw my son off the stage."
