$2m jewellery stolen from Hilton mansion

A thief reportedly stole jewellery costing $2 million (£1.3 million) from Paris Hilton's LA mansion.

The celebrity heiress was not at home when the hooded burglar made off with precious gems, reports the Daily Mail.

The burglary was reported to police by a security guard at Paris's gated Los Angeles property. It is understood that the thief gained access by forcing open a door.

Hilton, who recently split from her boyfriend Benji Madden after nine months, was at her friend Christina Aguilera's 28th birthday party at the time.
