Holmes, Jolie talk motherhood in book

A new book on celebrity mums is to feature reflections from stars including Katie Holmes, Angelina Jolie, Kate Hudson and Tina Fey.

The Black Book Of Hollywood Pregnancy Secrets, due to go on sale next March, is the brainchild of authors Kym Douglas and Cindy Pearlman.

According to the New York Daily News, the book reveals that Hudson finds meeting new men difficult as the single mother to her five-year-old son, Ryder. "I do find it tough to date," she said, adding: "I'd rather be at home with my son cooking dinner than going out with a guy. My son is my man."

Meanwhile, Katie Holmes reveals that priorities change with motherhood, explaining: "We were in Berlin and I was impressed with their playgrounds. It's amazing what you become aware of as a mother. You think, 'Nice wood on that swing set'."

Helena Bonham Carter said pregnancy made her extremely assertive, while Tina Fey said mothers are all in the same boat. "I don't care how many covers you're on. When you're chasing a three-year-old around with a pull-up [diaper] hoping she won't poop on the floor, you're just like every other mum on the planet."
