Albarn, Coxon reunited over Eccles cake

Damon Albarn has revealed that he made up with Graham Coxon over an Eccles cake on a London doorstep.

Blur announced earlier this month that they will play a series of reunion gigs after a six-year break following guitarist Coxon's departure during the making of seventh LP Think Tank.

Albarn told The Guardian that Coxon turned up prior to a recent gig in Camden Town. "We just went for a walk and bought a bun - I think it was an Eccles cake - and we sat in a doorway," he said.

"We just looked at each other said, you know what, it's all over, isn't it? That strange feeling that had come between us had gone. So, shall we play together again?"

Albarn said he was relieved to have his "old mate" back, adding: "We used to play in a band together and we're going to play in that band again... that day, sitting on a doorstep... we both accepted that we were never going to escape the fact that we were in Blur and that it was better to accept and go forward with optimism and not carrying that bloody heavy burden."
