Spears, Madden are 'not dating'

A representative of Britney Spears has slammed speculation that the singer is dating Paris Hilton's ex-boyfriend Benji Madden,

An earlier report by In Touch Weekly had suggested that Spears was introduced to the Good Charlotte guitarist by her manager Larry Rudolph and that the couple had been on a few dates.

However, Spears's publicist Holly Shakoor has insisted that these rumours are "completely false".

"The claims made by In Touch are completely false," she told E! News. "There is not an ounce of truth to any of it."

Madden split from hotel heiress Hilton in November, following a nine-month relationship.
