Russell Brand: 'I'll date Britney'

Russell Brand has joked that he would happily date Britney Spears if she is looking for a new boyfriend, reports OK!.

The actor, who is currently starring in Disney's Bedtime Stories alongside Adam Sandler, made the comment after being told that the singer is on the hunt for romance.

"She's looking for a boyfriend now?" he asked reporters at the movie's LA premiere. "I'm going now! Is she here? I'm just gonna be quick. There's not a moment to lose!"

Brand and Spears worked together earlier this year, when they filmed a series of promos for the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards. In one clip the comedian flirted with the 'Womanizer' singer, telling her that she should remember his surname "because I think pretty soon that's gonna be your surname. Britney Brand."

The pair were rumoured to be dating in September after they were spotted leaving an LA restaurant together.
