Britney Spears is jeopardising her comeback by binging on calorific junk food, reports the Daily Star.
The 'Womanizer' singer has reportedly refused to adhere to the 1,200 calorie a day diet recommended by her trainers and managers, instead choosing to eat fatty foods.
"Britney's been eating burgers and chips for lunch in complete defiance of the strict eating plan worked out for her," revealed an insider. "It's as if she's trying to defy her father and bosses, and break out of the controlled environment by turning away from the healthy lifestyle they've put in place.
"Every decision in her life is made for her and she's kept under the strictest watch to make sure her comeback is a success. Eating her favourite foods is one of the few ways she can control things."
The 27-year-old has been trying to shape up ahead of next year's world tour in support of her latest LP Circus.
Spears was this week named the most exposed celebrity of the year, having garnered more media coverage than any other individual in 2008.
