Blonsky assault charges dropped

Assault charges against Hairspray star Nikki Blonsky following her altercation with an America's Next Top Model contestant last year have been dropped.

The 20-year-old actress and her father were arrested at Providenciales Airport in Turks and Caicos in July after becoming embroiled in an argument with Bianca Golden over airport seating.

Blonsky and Golden were charged with actual bodily harm, while Blonsky's father was accused of grievous bodily harm.

"The cases against Nikki Blonsky and Bianca Golden have been dropped," Turks and Caicos Police Sgt. Calvin Chase told E! News.

"The only case that is still proceeding is against [Blonsky's] father."

Carl Blonsky, 53, could face up to five years in jail if convicted.
