Eva Mendes has admitted that she hates hearing actresses complain about the restraints being beautiful places on their careers.

The Ghost Rider star revealed that being beautiful in Hollywood is the "easiest thing" for a star, insisting that life is much harder for an overweight actress.

"It really rubs me up the wrong way when I hear these 'actresses' saying it's so hard to be beautiful to get respect in this industry," she told The Mirror.

"It sounds so arrogant. The easiest thing in this industry is to be beautiful. Try being overweight."

However, the 34-year-old confessed that she was "nervous" to see her naked backside on screen in upcoming movie The Spirit because she thought the shot was supposed to be in silhouette.

"When I saw the film, I was with Frank [Miller]," she said. "I gave a nervous laugh and said, 'Erm, Frank, that's definitely not a silhouette'. And he's like, 'Yeah, but it's fantastic!'"
