Ritchie has 'lonely' New Year's Eve

Guy Ritchie has reportedly sparked concern from his friends after spending New Year's Eve alone.

The film director snubbed a number of party invites and spent the night at home "brooding" over his time with Madonna, according to The People.

A source told the newspaper: "Guy was on a real downer over New Year and just wanted to be alone to think. He watched TV, had a few beers and then had an early night."

Ritchie and Madonna confirmed that they were divorcing after nearly eight years of marriage in October.

The insider added: "He and Madonna called a truce after Christmas and spent time together with the kids. He was surprised at how friendly and natural it felt. I suppose it got him wondering whether they could have handled things differently."
