DUI Locklear gets three years' probation

Heather Locklear has been sentenced to three years' informal probation after pleading guilty to reckless driving, reports TMZ.

The actress was arrested in September last year after allegedly driving under the influence of prescription medicine.

Locklear escaped DUI charges by pleading guilty to a lesser offence at a Santa Barbara court on Friday.

A judge placed the star, who was not present at the hearing, on three years of informal probation and ordered her to pay a £620 fine and to attend a 12-hour drug education class.
