Ashlee: '2008 was greatest year of my life'

Ashlee Simpson has hailed 2008 as being the "greatest year" of her life.

The singer married Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz in May, gave birth to son Bronx Mowgli in November and released her third studio LP Bittersweet World.

"I don't know if I can have high expectations for 2009 because 2008 was so good," she told reporters in Las Vegas. "It was the greatest year of my life."

The star sipped champagne as she celebrated New Year's Eve at Pure night club alongside her husband, according to People.

Simpson added that six-week-old Bronx, who was napping at a nearby hotel with a babysitter, is "the best thing that ever happened to me".
