Pattinson: 'Music is my back-up plan'

Twilight star Robert Pattinson has revealed that music is his "back-up plan" in the event of his Hollywood career stalling.

The 22-year-old contributed two songs to the vampire movie's soundtrack, but insisted that he is not trying to launch himself as a musician off the back of the film's success.

"That’s what I was scared about, it looks like I’m trying to get a music career out of it or something," he told the Los Angeles Times. "I’ve never really recorded anything - I just played in pubs and stuff - and I really didn’t want it to look like I was trying to cash in.

"I hope it doesn’t come across as that. I’m not going to be doing any music videos or anything...Music is my back-up plan if acting fails. I don’t want to put all my eggs in one basket."
