Elton John returns to football club

Elton John has returned to Watford Football Club just two months after quiting as honorary life president.

The pop singer, who has served multiple roles at the club since 1976, walked away recently due to a feud with former chairman Graham Simpson. However, Watford's new manager Brendan Rodgers asked John to consider returning following Simpson's resignation.

Rodgers said: "I was delighted when he accepted my invitation... and he was great with everyone. He rang me later when he got home, thanking me for the day."

He added: "People like Elton John have been involved here for many years. For me, it's important that people like that have a part in the future as well."
